Reconfiguring Urban Adaptation Finance (IIED)

This paper examines international, national and municipal mechanisms for financing adaptation, and reveals the systemic barriers that prevent money being channelled into the hands of low-income and highly vulnerable urban residents in low- andmiddle-income countries, and hinder effective urban adaptation. At the same time, a number of highly organised, pro-poor, locally managed funds are being pioneered across a number of cities in low- and middle-income countries.

The report entitled Economics of forest and forest carbon projects: Translating lessons learned into national REDD+ implementation draws lessons on finance options and barriers related to project activities from the forest sector. It investigates the economics of implementing forest and REDD+ projects through a number of case studies from Africa, Latin America and Asia, by analyzing real forest and REDD+ investments. The report was funded by the UN-REDD Programme.

It outlines the multiple development benefits of climate-proofing infrastructure.
